Too Good Not to Share*
These days we’re traveling as much as we can. The nest is empty, the husband is retired – now is the time. Since we’re on the go so often, I’m trying to assemble things that are “go-to’s” for travel, and one of my strategies is to center my wardrobe around a single color (navy blue works for me). For summer, in particular, I’ve gravitated toward Coolibar pants and, specifically, the Petra and Verona styles in solid colors that will easily pair with multiple tops.
The Petra style is fun and attention-getting with a side slit to almost knee level, allowing the lower pants leg to flow prettily in the breeze (alternately, the loose ends may be tied at the ankle to vary the look). Verona is a straight-leg (but not skinny) style that is comfortable while looking dressy.
Both styles are made of light, breathable fabric with built-in stretch and have elastic waists making them super comfortable for a full day of touring while still being dressy enough for dinner in the evening. The lightweight fabric also means they take up practically no room and add almost no weight to a suitcase.
Coolibar Petra and Verona pants have a lot more going for them: they’re UPF 50+ (guaranteed), and the protection never washes out; they’re machine washable and dryable, so they couldn’t be easier to care for; and they are quick-dry if you get caught in the rain or if you’re a light-packer and want to wash them in the sink and hang them to dry.
While my Coolibar pants are a go-to for summer travel, the truth is that I love wearing them on any warm day for a quick, cool, stylish look. I get compliments almost every time I wear the split-leg, Petras. I’ve had them for a couple of seasons, and they continue to come through the laundry in excellent shape. This is a very well-made brand.
