Too Good Not to Share: Cooped Up Edition

A 15-minute walk outside — who knew? Likely everyone but me; and truth be told, I knew. I mean — I’ve read it, heard people say it, seen Facebook posts with the photos, and even done it a few times. So, yes, I knew that taking a walk is good for you.

What I didn’t remember is how good it actually feels to walk outside versus on a treadmill. The hubby and I just got back from a stroll up and down the county road we live on; and it was, dare I say, nice? We weren’t trying to set a particular pace or reach a target heart rate; we just walked — at a fair pace because it did feel good to have our bodies moving — and talked and noticed things. How perfectly lovely.

And with folks home, as we are, we got to wave to some neighbors who were also outside for a change of scenery. The houses are spaced farther apart here than in most neighborhoods, so it was unusual to catch so many people out at the same time where we could see them and wave hello. Out here it doesn’t usually feel like a neighborhood, but today it did.

Anyway, if you haven’t taken yourself outside lately, just for the sheer pleasure of it, there’s no time like the present. I highly recommend it.
